Duck, Duck, Goose! A Coyote’s on the Loose!

Some books are just fun.  This is one of those books.  I’ve lost track of how many times we’ve already read it and how many times Caroline has recited just the title.

She’s also memorized quite a bit of the inside text.  I suspected this would be a winner because funny animals are all the rage right now.  :-)

Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush by Iza Trapani

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Sometimes you just happen upon a book that you know is going to become a favorite.  This was the case when I found this book at the library.

Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush by Iza Trapani is a take-off on the traditional nursery song.  She develops it and makes it into a hilarious tale of what happens when a gardener tries to deal with the animals intent on taking over her garden. Told alternately from the point of view of the gardener and the animals, it is a clever telling with great illustrations.

If you garden and battle the creatures, you will love this book. And even if you don’t, you’ll still appreciate the humor.  :-)

Gel snowmen are inexpensive fun

Friday, January 9th, 2009

I found these gel snowmen on clearance at the local bookstore.  Caroline loves snowmen and stickers so I thought these gel guys who stick to the window would be a big hit.

They definitely were! She asked three times to go back up to her room to play with them the first day!

Now that is one clever mommy!

I laughed out loud when I read this: Barf Bucks.

I am definitely filing this away for future reference. And I agree with Arden – it would be totally worth it!
