Free American Revolution Lapbook and Notebooking Pages

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

LIberty bell 2Here is a free resource for today only!  Homeschool Freebie of the Day is offering an entire American Revolution lapbook with notebooking pages.  I’ve just briefly peeked through it, but it looks like there are lots of helpful resources and ideas.

It will be a number of years before Caroline is ready for this, but I continue to add good materials to my files in anticipation of using them eventually.

Enjoy!  :D

Free old book on The Boston Tea Party

Monday, November 30th, 2009

BostonTeaPartyThis is  a clever and fun book from the 1800′s about The Boston Tea Party.  It is available only today so check it out and enjoy!

BTW… I have no connection with Homeschool Freebie of the Day, but if you like older/classic books and materials… You should consider getting on their mailing list.  They offer one freebie each week that you can only get if you receive their weekly email update.  Not all of the freebies are old.  They also offer newer ebooks from people trying to get the word out about their materials.

Many of the things I download I don’t know if I will ever use with Caroline, but I enjoy looking at them myself since I enjoy reading older materials.  :-)

Free today: Being a Boy – A Farm Boy’s Life in Old New England

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

This is one of those neat freebies that is only available today.  Being a Boy – A Farm Boy’s Life in Old New England would make a great read aloud for history.  Although the timeframe is a bit earlier, I’m thinking this would go great with a study of Calvin Coolidge, one of my favorite U.S. Presidents who grew up in rural Vermont and spoke very fondly of his upbringing.

Enjoy!  :D

In the Days of the Guild, free history ebook today

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

I don’t want to sound like a broken record here, but I am always on the lookout for free materials I can use when homeschooling. I especially appreciate that there are several companies out there bringing back old classics that are out of print or almost impossible to find.  Google’s undertaking of scanning and preserving old books and providing them for free online is such a fabulous service.

This old book is available today for download: In the Days of the Guild.  I like finding books such as this that will work well as read alouds in the future.
